AMD could cut the price of Ryzen 9000 processors right from launch

It's not often that we hear that a hot new product is not only superior, but also more affordable than its predecessor. However, AMD seems determined to take on Intel and the effects of inflation by launching Ryzen 9000 processors at lower prices than the 7000 series.

AMD will introduce the Ryzen 9000 series this month, and soon we will find out if Intel's major stability problems with current and previous processors will turn into a real “humiliation”. What if AMD brought faster and more efficient processors to market that were also more reliable and cheaper than those previously offered by both companies?

According to a preliminary listing from an online store in Slovenia, the Zen 5 processors will be launched at very attractive prices. Thus, the Ryzen 9 9950X would cost 660 euros, the Ryzen 9 9900X would have a price of 500 euros, the Ryzen 7 9700X would be available for 400 euros, and the Ryzen 5 9600X would have a price of 310 euros.

For comparison, the launch prices of the Ryzen 7000 series were: 850 euros for the Ryzen 9 7950X, 670 euros for the Ryzen 9 7900X, and 360 euros for the Ryzen 5 7600X. So the price difference is substantial, with AMD's top of the range going to be 190 euros cheaper than the previous model.

Of course, it is possible that these prices are the result of “misunderstandings” such as the conversion from US dollars to Euros. However, if not, the Ryzen 9000 could become the most successful processor series in AMD history.
